Welcome to Women and Girls in Science @ University of Namur!

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science takes place every 11th of February, following the declaration by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 22nd of December 2015.

It aims at promoting the access of women and girls to science and technology as well as their full and fair participation. This event reminds the important role of women in the scientific community. It constitutes a great opportunity to encourage girls and young women to participate in the scientific developments.

11 February 2022 @ UNamur

Due to the sanitary situation, we will hold an online/hybrid meeting on 11 February afternoon (2:00 to 3.30 pm).  A one-day in-person meeting will be held later in spring 2022.

Further details will follow.

Registration (free but mandatory) is open - Register now!

The University of Namur is hosting this event for the second time.  The organizing team is preparing a 1-day workshop in which female researchers from different science domains and at different stages of their careers will present their work in a format within reach of interdisciplinary scientists.

Early stage researchers, including Master students, are encouraged to submit an abstract for a poster presentation, so as, not only to facilitate participation and interactions, but also to show their support for gender equality in research and for the research held at UNamur in general.
